Love and War - Sweetheart Items in the Museum's Collection

Sweetheart Badges & Brooches - Page Two

The museum's collection of sweetheart badges and brooches dates back to around 1900 with the earliest example being in hall-marked silver.  They were sometimes made by soldiers but more often commercially produced, an advert for some of the more expensive variations exists in The Lion and The Rose from 1931.
