Colonel John Plumbe-Tempest of the 1st Royal Lancashire Militia circa 1830.  Oil painting.
John Plume-Tempest followed his father, Captain Thomas Plumbe, whose uniform from 1760-65 can be seen in the museum, into the Royal Lancashire Militia.  He served from 1794 until 1852, commanding the RLM for a total of 33 years from 1819 to 1852.
KO0281 Gift of Mrs Tempest of Tong Hall

Mess Room 'Old Barracks' in Lancaster, circa 1890, which probably means that it is the mess room used by the 3rd and 4th (Militia) Battalions of the King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.  The Militia occupied wooden buildings within Bowerham Barracks.  The portrait of Colonel Plumbe-Tempest can be seen on the wall.
Accession Number: KO0710-06

Colonel Henry William Breton, 4th Regiment of Foot, the King’s Own, circa 1830, painted by P A Barnard.

A portrait of Private Henry Watson, 4th King's Own.
Likely to have been painted in the 1830s and possibly by the same artist, Charles Dean, of the portrait above of Watts.
