The Gradwell Cup

Silver Cup ‘The Gradwell Cup’ Presented to the Officers Mess of the 1st Volunteer Battalion, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment by Major W Gradwell, in commemoration of his 21 years service in the Regiment.
To be shot for annually by a team of five from each company and the cup to be held by the captain of the winning team, August 1896.

Gradwell Cup Medal, 1949, awarded to Gunner E J T McCalmont of the 380th Anti-Tank Regiment Royal Artillery (Territorial Army) King's Own.  The 380th Anti-Tank Regiment had been formed from the 56th Anti-Tank Regiment which had been created in 1938 from the 4th (Territorial Army) Battalion of the King's Own Royal Regiment.  The Gradwell Cup had for many years been a competition within the 4th Battalion.
