Typewritten Letter from Horse Guards, War Office, dated 30 May 1894 to the General Officer Commanding, in Egypt.
“Sir,
With reference to your Confidential minute of the 10th instant, I am directed by the Commander in Chief to inform you that His Royal Highness has approved of Major and Brevet Lieutenant Colonel A Hunter, DSO, Royal Lancaster Regiment, being exempted from examination for the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
