Empire Clyde
Built by William Beardmore & Company in 1921 the ‘Cameronia’ of the Anchor Line sailed on the Glasgow to New York route. She was requisitioned as a troopship in December 1940 and saw service in North Africa, Sicily and Normandy. She was used to transport troops to Palestine in 1947 after which she was rebuilt as an Australian immigration ship. In 1951 she was sold to the Ministry of Transport and renamed 'Empire Clyde'. She was scrapped in Newport, Wales in September 1957.
