Troopships -  HMS Shrophshire


The drums of the 1st King's Own beating the retreat on board HMS Shrophshire on 5th October 1931 whilst at sea.

HMS Shropshire
HMS Shropshire was county class destroyer of the Royal Navy, launched in 1928 at Beardmore's Naval Construction Works, Dalmuir.  She served with the Mediterranean Fleet until September 1939 and then operated trade protection duties in the South Atlantics.  In 1943 she was transferred to the Royal Australian Navy.  She was decommissioned after the war and broken up by Arnott Young at Dalmuir in 1955.
