Soldiers of the Regiment Private Albert Whitham Private Albert Whitham, number 3459185, of the 7th Battalion, King's Own Royal Regiment died whilst serving in India of small pox on 9th April 1943 at the age of 30 years. He was the son of Samuel and Susannah Whitham of Todmorden, Lancashire, and husband of Marion Whitham also of Todmorden. He is buried in Karachi War Cemetery. It would appear that his brother also served in the King's Own Royal Regiment, Private Sydney Whitham, number 3459186 appears in the museum's records. Both men originally enlisted into the Lancashire Fusiliers. These photographs record his funeral and his grave.
