Soldiers of the Regiment

Laidman Family of Dalton

This group of photographs is part of a larger collection noted to be in the ownership of the Laidman family of Dalton in Furness.  The museum was only able to purchase some of the items from the collection when they were sold by auction.

Dalton, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, Football team, 1913-1914. The football is marked ‘Dalton KORL 1913-14’ and there is a sergeant in the group in uniform who appears to be wearing the medal ribbons for both the Queen’s and King’s South Africa Medals.
