5th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, "Don't be Alarmed the 5th King's Own Lancs are on guard at Sevenoaks".

Posted to York and postmarked 10th February 1915, the battalion left Sevenoaks shortly afterwards and left England for France on 14th February 1915.

9th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, "Don't be Alarmed the King's Own are on guard at Eastbourne".  Sent to Mrs Agnes Garlick, 5 Hope Yard, Friar Street, Penrith, Cumberland, postmarked 6th March 19115 from her son, Private John Garlick, number 15181, of the 9th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.  John went overseas to the Western Front on 4th September 1915 with the battalion, and later transferred to Salonika.  He later joined the 1st Battalion of the King's Own.
