Collections - Uniforms

Headwear - Helmets

1940s

Helmet worn by Captain Newhouse of the 5th Battalion, King's Own Royal Regiment, who was at Dunkirk in June 1940 awaiting evacuation to England.  He was ordered, along with the rest of the battalion to remove identification marks from their uniforms and helmets, so there was less intelligence should they be captured by the Germans.
Accession Number: KO1723/03

1960s

Helmet, worn in the 1960s.  4/5 King's Own Royal Regiment.
Accession Number: KO2469/04
