Regimental and Battalion Flags and Pennants - 1945-1959

 



Regimental flag which had been flown at Regimental Headquarters in Lancaster between 1959 and 1975, when Regimental Headquarters was closed and moved to Lancaster.

Regiment flag presented to Major G W Bone on the amalgamation of the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the King's Own Royal Regiment in April 1949 in Trieste.

Regimental Pennant of the King’s Own. Featuring the Red rose, above a regimental lion above the roman numerals ‘IV’ On a blue cloth background trimmed in blue and orange.

King's Own Royal Regiment Flag, circa 1950s, possibly from the Regimental Depot at Bowerham Barracks.  The flag features the King's Own Lion of England and the Lancastrian Training Brigade Badge of the red rose and laurel.

Commanding Officer’s Staff Car flag/pennant of the 1st King’s Own circa 1950s. Orange lion and ‘IV’ printed onto blue material - stitched so each side is similar with heavy white cotton strip to one side for fixing to ‘flag pole’ on vehicle. Recognised by Major Pat Roberts as Commanding Officer's Staff Car flag circa 1950s.
