Very Flare or Signalling Pistol used to fire Very-light flares. Invented by Edward Wilson Very (1847-1910). Sometimes called ‘Verey’

Flare Pistol, German used by Storm Troops. A trophy from the battlefields of France by the 2nd Battalion King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.  Acquired by Captain Noel Briggs, 1st/5th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, when he served on the Western Front.  The 1st/5th and 2nd Battalions served alongside each other in the Ypres sector in 1915.
