Cap Badges - Plastic

Plastic cap badges were introduced during the Second World War as an economy measure, saving metals for more important uses.  The light bronze coloured plastic King's Own cap badge pattern was sealed on 13th August 1942, although plastic badges were introduced as early as 1942.  The rear of the badge is marked "F&G" for the manufacturer Fraser & Glass, of London.
