These images are believed to be from the collection of WO 2 (CSM)
William Wood, number 5185, of the King’s Own. Promoted Colour Sergeant 5
Jan 1910, 2nd Battalion. He was awarded the Long Service and Good
Conduct Medal in Jan 1916.
Commissioned into the King’s Own during the First World War. One
postcard, not acquired, was addressed to him as Captain W Wood, 157
Ratcliffe Street, Oldham.

tunics all the King’s Own with South Africa Medals.

Sergeant Wood, The Barracks, Lancaster, and redirected to ‘Hutments,
Fleetwood’
