Annual Boxing Tournament, Central Gymnasium, Lucknow, 14, 16 and 19 Jun 1911. Gives details of the various boxing matches over three days.
“The winners of the Regimental Events, received a challenge belt, a souvenir medal and 45 Rupees. The cup by Murray & Co for the best scientific boxing, was awarded to Lance corporal Taylor”

Two soldiers, including Private W Rodda, 1st Battalion, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, Bantam Weight Championship, Lucknow, 1911.

Private Rodda has a tattoo of St. George, mounted on horse back, slaying a dragon.
Private William Rodda, number 9262, served with the 1st Battalion in the First World War, arriving in France on 23 Aug 1914, but was taken prisoner before Christmas 1914. His home address was 21 Queen Street, Lancaster.
