Soldiers of the Regiment

Private William Harrison

Private William Harrison, number 2723, of the 1st/4th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, went overseas to France and Flanders with the rest of the battalion on3rd May 1915.  He died of wounds on 7th July 1915.  He is buried in Cologne Southern Cemetery, his grave being concentrated there from its original burial place.  He is recorded as the son of William and Hannah Mary Harrison of Raceside, Silecroft, Cumberland.  A native of Thwaites, Millom, Cumberland.

Written on the rear in pencil is the date 2 May 1915 and then “Wm Harrison, Beck Bank, Killed in France 1917”  which is clearly not correct.
