Captain Allan Parker

Allan Parker is shown as having been commissioned into the 5th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, on 10th November 1914.  He was promoted Temporary Lieutenant with the 2nd/5th Battalion of the King's Own on 17th November 1914, and later Temporary Captain with the 41st Provisional Battalion on 31st August 1915.  He is shown as having been with the 41st Provisional Battalion from 15th August 1915.  He died on 1st April 1917 and is shown as having been with the 12th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment at the time.  There is no record of any overseas service.

Captain Parker's funeral, Wednesday 4th April 1917, outside The Chapel public house, on Market Hill, Coggeshall, Essex.  Captain Allan Parker had died on 1st April, and is shown as serving with the 12th Battalion of the King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.  His coffin, it is assumed, was being taken to Kelvedon, the nearest railway station, for transportation to St. John's Churchyard, Keswick.
