4" Brass Shell with engraving detail including "King's Own" and "1914-1918 War".  Stated to have been made for Private John Croft by German prisoners of war who were grateful for the potatoes he gave to them.  The detailing was done with a nail and the heel of a boot.  One of five shells brought home by John Croft.

Defence Medal, Second World War, awarded to Sergeant Albert Charles Vause of the Home Guard.  Albert Vause of Gamble Road, Thornton, was employed as a welder at ICI, Alakali at Thornton, and was also a sergeant in the local Home Guard in the Second World War.
