Sergeant George Morge

 


Abyssinian Medal to Sergeant George Morge, number 260, 1st Battalion, 4th, King’s Own Royal Regiment.
George Morge as by 1881 a Canteen Steward at Bowerham Barracks, where he was still working in 1891. He had six children, and two sons joined the King’s Own, George Augustus Morge was killed in action at Spion Kop in January 1900 and William Morge served with the King’s Own and received the LSGC in 1908.
