Leather Gun Case

 


Leather ‘leg of mutton’ gun case named to “R H G 4th K O R”. Damage to one end and repair to the other end.
Identified as Richard Hall Green, 4th King’s Own, 1870s-1890s.
Lieutenant Colonel R H Green, late the King’s Own Regiment, died recently at Glazebrooke, South Brent, South Devon, aged 63. He was a son of the late General Thomas Lyttelton Green of Aston Hall, Aston-on-Clun, Salop, and entered the service in Jan 1869. He became a lieutenant in May 1871; captain in Mar 1880; Major in Sep 1886, retiring in Jun 1892. He was recalled from the reserve of officers in Jun 1900, and finally retired in Nov 1901, with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
