Regimental Surgeon at the Battle of Waterloo

The scene illustrates a Regimental Surgeon of the 4th Foot, King's Own Royal Regiment, carrying out a field amputation at the Battle of Waterloo, 18th June 1815.
Oil painting by James Askew, 2011, commissioned by Mr Michael Crumplin to illustrate his forthcoming publication, and purchased by the King's Own Royal Regiment Museum in 2012.
