“Life continues to be fairly pleasant but very routine. Swimming has
been cancelled for the time being because heavy rains have made it
dangerous. The heavy rains occurred mainly on Saturday night (I was
on guard) I seem to cop all the wet weather. I managed to get the
first stag and for my second two hours I dozing in a jeep as it was
pouring down. I came off guard at 0700 hrs and managed to get to
Communion Service at 0730hrs. The Padre came from the North Staffs.
as our Padre is a Methodist. Although Teal Bridge was supposed to be
closed because of the height of the water he pushed the barbed wire
to one side and just made the service in time.” |
