Soldiers of the Regiment Sergeant Charles Chappell Corporal Charles Chappell, number 8326, was in 7 Hut, K Company, 3rd Battalion, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, Fort Stamford, Plymouth, when this post card was sent to him in June 1916. Corporal Chappell arrived on the Western Front on 27th August 1914 and joined the 1st Battalion who had already been there for only a few days. He received the 1914 Star as well as the British War and Allied Victory Medals. He finished the war with the rank of sergeant.
