Soldiers of the Regiment

Corporal Edward Simpson

Edward Simpson enlisted into the 4th Battalion of the King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment on 22nd May 1912 at the age of 17 years and three months.  He was mobilised with the battalion in August 1914 and arrived on the Western Front with the 1st/4th Battalion in May 1915.  His original number was 1722 and this was later changed to 200115.  His home address was 16 Dale Street, Ulverston.  It would appear that he continued to serve after the First World War in the 4th Battalion.
