First World War Memorial Plaque

Private William Rossall


Memorial Plaque with wooden frame to Private William Rossall, number 2702 and later 240819 of the 1st/5th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, who was killed in action on 1st August 1917.  He was the husband  of Mary Jane Rossall of Tithebarn Street, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire.  Private Rossall has now known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate, Ypres, Belgium.

Home-made commemorative plate to Lance Corporal William Rossall.  This plate turned up at a car boot sale in Otley and has since been kindly donated to the museum to join (re-join?) William's medals and memorial plaque.
