Postcard of Mitchell Park, Durban, South Africa with message on rear from Private Harold Edmond Pridgen, number 34222, 2nd Battalion, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Postmarked Durban, South Africa and dated 9th July 1917.
Private Pridgen received only the British War Medal and is shown on the medal roll as 3rd Battalion. (His number is amongst others who received British War Medal only, although not exclusively, with the number after his being 6th King’s Own.
Addressed to Mrs Pridgen, 92 Peel Street, Hull, England. “Dear Nellie, Hope you are well, just returned from a long route march and feel tired. Good Bye. Your affect. Husband, Harold.”
