Grave of Private John William D’Arcy Rigg, number 7893 of the 1st Battalion, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Died 5 Sep 1914, age 27. Husband of Mrs. M. Rigg, of 8, Albany St., West Gorton, Manchester. Buried in Argentan Communal Cemetery, France. Reported died of gun shot wound on railway station at Argentan. Date of death shown as 31 Aug 1914 in Soldiers Died in the Great War.
