Private Hugh Ward

 


Private Hugh Ward of the King’s Own Royal Regiment at Bowerham Barracks.  Was with the January 1955 intake for National Service. Served in the King's Own for three years. He was original from Singapore, his adopted father, Jack, lived in Carlisle, and brought him out of Singapore before the Japanese invasion in 1942. He later transferred to the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. After military service became an actor.
