Private Hughie Jones and family.

These documents, items and photos were donated by Mrs K Woods, who lived in India with her father, Private Hughie Jones, circa 1938-43.  The medals of Private Hughie Jones, number 42833 and later 3706178, are also in the museum's collection.  (KO1025)

Regular Army Certificate of Service to Sergeant Hughie Jones, number 3706173, of the 1st Battalion King’s Own Royal Regiment.
Served 21 Feb 1923 to 21 Mar 1944 with the King’s Own. Previous service with the General Service Corps, Welsh Regiment, King’s Own and Lancashire Fusiliers between 14 Jun 1917 and 16 Nov 1919.

Letter Card TSS Tuscania including photograph of the ship.
Built by Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Co. Ltd. Govan and one of the latest post-war vessels of the Anchor Line. She is a passenger liner with a limited amount of space for fine cargo, refrigerated chambers for carrying perishable goods.
