Borough of Salford Certificate - Sergeant John Cheadle

The County Borough of Salford gave a special certificate to Sergeant John Cheadle, number 17681, of the 8th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, to mark the award of the Military Medal for gallantry.  The certificate is dated 1st May 1919 and is a printed document by Alan Taylor, Illuminator of Manchester, with the personal details added.  Sergeant Cheadle was wounded at Ypres in 1918 and had a leg amputated in February 1945 as a result of the wounds.  He died on 30th November 1981.
