Soldiers of the Regiment

Private Harold Gordon Cooper

Private Harold Gordon Cooper, number 1207, served with the 5th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment from 4th June 1910, when he attested at the age of 19 years.  He went overseas to the Western Front with the rest of the battalion on 14th February 1915.  He received the new number 240097 in 1917, and was discharged on 17th October 1918 because of wounds.  He received a gun shot wound to the right forearm.  In the Second World War he served with the 59th County of Lancaster (Post Office) Battalion, Home Guard, Lancaster 'B' Company.
