		Lance Corporal Albert Bamber 
      
		
		Lance Corporal Albert Bamber, number 1191, 1st/5th Battalion, King’s 
		Own.
		Albert enlisted into the 5th Battalion in January 1911 whilst working 
		for Storey Brothers & Co. Lancaster. He was mobilised in August 1914 and 
		arrived in France on 14th February 1915. He was wounded on 23rd April 
		1915 and discharged on 26th January 1916. He re-enlisted into the 5th 
		(Reserve) Battalion of the King’s Own and was later transferred to the 
		Labour Corps from where he was finally discharged in March 1919.

			‘In Thick of Fight Lancaster Territorials’ Roll of Honour’ Including: “Private Matthew Farrell, who was the principal support 
			of his mother, living in Little John Street, Lancaster, was killed 
			instantaneously on Wednesday last. He was in Captain Sharpe’s 
			company and was 16 years of age, but stood over 6 ft and looked well 
			over twenty. He was an old boy of St. Peter’s School and worked at 
			White Cross Mill. Two other brothers of his are serving in the
