Cap Badge, brass, found by the Reverend C J K Burnell near Hill 60 (Ypres) on 27th April 1936.  Burnell had served as a Chaplain during the First World War attached to the 1st Battalion between 1916 and 1918.

Slip of paper attached to the front of the programme notes that the date of the ceremony was moved to 31 Jul 1932 as a mark of respect to the memory of the late President Doumer, and in sympathy with the French people in their period of National mourning.

Imperial War Graves Commission. Order of Ceremonial at the Unveiling of the Somme Memorial by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales in the Presence of the President of the French Republic on 16 May 1932.
As a mark of respect to the memory of the late President Doumer, and in sympathy with the French people in their period of National mourning, the ceremony was postponed to 31 Jul 1932.
A slip of paper attached to the front cover has been torn off, this contained details of the postponement and the fact that Lord Hailsham, Chairman of the Imperial War Graves Commission was unable to take part as he was at the Imperial Conference in Ottawa, his place was taken by the Vice Chairman, Major-General Sir Fabian Ware.
