Soldiers of the Regiment Private William Joseph Crellin Private William Joseph Crellin, number 3710673, distinguished himself during the sinking of the Princess Marguerite on 17 Aug 1942 when the 1st Battalion, King’s Own moved from Egypt to Cyprus. The story of his heroics is told in a Victor Comic.
