Second in Command 10th Battalion 9 Oct 1940. Brigade Major Special Employment London 24 Oct 1940. Acting Lieutenant Colonel 2nd Battalion in Syria 6 Feb 1942. Subsequently Ceylon, India, and Burma. DSO. From Commanding 2nd Battalion to Acting Brigadier 15 Mar 1943. War Substantive Lieutenant Colonel and Temporary Brigadier 23 Sep 1943 to 27 Jan 1946. Lieutenant Colonel 26 Aug 1945. Retired with rank Honorary Brigadier Reserve of Officers 9 Feb 1946. Director Army Sports Control Board 1946. Ceases to belong to Reserve of Officers 7 Apr 1956.
