Brigadier Alfred Rimbault Aslett

Born 14 Jan 1901. 2nd Lieutenant 1st Battalion from Royal Military College 24 Dec 1920. Lieutenant 24 Dec 1922. Played Rugby for the Army and England, Captaining the 1st Battalion team that won the Army Cup twice. Adjutant 1st Battalion 5 Feb 1927 to 5 Feb 1930. Officer of a Cadet Company, Sandhurst, 3 Feb 1931. Captain 1 Apr 1935. Regimental Depot 1937. Major 1 Aug 1938. General Staff Officer 3 Headquarters Ceylon 21 Oct 1938. Second in Command 10th Battalion 9 Oct 1940. Brigade Major Special Employment London 24 Oct 1940. Acting Lieutenant Colonel 2nd Battalion in Syria 6 Feb 1942. Subsequently Ceylon, India, and Burma. DSO. From Commanding 2nd Battalion to Acting Brigadier 15 Mar 1943. War Substantive Lieutenant Colonel and Temporary Brigadier 23 Sep 1943 to 27 Jan 1946. Lieutenant Colonel 26 Aug 1945. Retired with rank Honorary Brigadier Reserve of Officers 9 Feb 1946. Director Army Sports Control Board 1946. Ceases to belong to Reserve of Officers 7 Apr 1956.
