Soldiers of the Regiment

Private Frederick Wadeson

Private Frederick Wadeson, number 3708709, was born in Dalton in Furness on 4th June 1904 and enlisted into the King's Own Royal Regiment on 22nd November 1927.  He signed up for three years in the Regular Army and nine years in the Army Reserve.  He appears to have been mobilised in 1939 after the outbreak of the Second World War and served with the 9th Battalion of the King's Own.  On 13th December 1941 he was transferred to the 90th Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery.

The collection of photographs includes both photographs of him and of soldiers from the First World War.
