Accession Number: KO1533/02 Lapel badge of the 55th West Lancashire Division worn by Private A Parkinson, of the 1st/5th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Accession Number: KO1533/01 Watched by the Mayor of Lancaster, Councillor William Briggs OBE, and the Corporation, the Cadre and Colours of the 1st/5th Battalion parade in front of the Town Hall on their return from Germany via Ireland on 17th October 1919. The Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel W G Hoare, DSO, stands to the left of the two mascots, Johnny, a white pony given by the 2nd Battalion, and Joey, an Indian mule found at Ypres in 1915. Accession Number: KO1533/03 Return of the Cadre of the 1st/5th Battalion, King's Own, who had spent time in Ireland after they had left Belgium in the summer of 1919.
