Soldiers of the Regiment Private James Peters Private James Peters, number 3713373, 1st Battalion, King's Own Royal Regiment, died at the age of 23 years as a prisoner of war on board the Italian Troopship, SS Scillin, 14th November 1942. He is commemorated on Alamein Memorial. Son of James and Janet Alice Philipson Peters of Leyland. 1st Battalion, King’s Own Royal Regiment, Plain Clothes Pass to Private James Peters dated 21st December 1940.
