Sweaters for Troops in the Field.


Postcard sent to John Welch, who prior to his commissioning into the 4th Battalion, King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, was a solicitor in Lancaster.
First World War Comforts ‘Sweaters for our troops’ postcard. Dated Oct 1914 ‘Mr John Penoyre tenders his grateful thanks for your generous response to his request for sweaters for our troops in the field. It would be an added kindness if you would name the scheme to friends who may not have seen his letters in the press.” Mr John Penoyre of 8, King’s Bench Walk, Inner Temple, London EC. Addressed to Mr J Welch Esq, Hampson, Lancaster.
