Soldiers of the Regiment

Acting Captain Eric Denholme Pridie

Served with the 7th and 6th Battalions in the First World War.  One of two subalterns of the Regiment who received the DSO, and one of 28 DSO's awarded below the rank of Captain in the First World War.  He later served with the Sudan Medical Services, and was Brigadier and Deputy Director Medical Services in Sudan and Eritrea in 1940.  He was later the Chief Medical Officer at the Colonial Office between 1948 and 1958.  He was knighted and died in London at the age of 82 years in 1979.
