Soldiers of the Regiment Private James William Nutter Private James William Nutter, number 3707877, enlisted into the King's Own Royal Regiment on 3rd September 1925 at the age of 18 years and 1 month. After completing his basic training he joined the 2nd Battalion and served in India with them. He was serving with 'A' Company of the 2nd Battalion when he died in the British Military Hospital, at Murree, of enteric fever on 1st June 1929. He was buried in the cemetery at Gharial, India on 2nd June 1929.
