Soldiers of the Regiment

Colonel Thomas Cameron Fitzgerald Somerville

Born 30 Mar 1860. 2nd Lieutenant 22 Jan 1879. Lieutenant 1881. On staff as ADC to General Officer Commanding China 1885-1889. Captain 1888. ADC to General Officer Commanding Cape of Good Hope 1891-95. Major 1897. Served with the 1st Battalion in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malta, Calcutta, and Burma. Lieutenant Colonel 1906. Brevet Colonel 1909. Retired 29 Jun 1910 and became Commandant of the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall. Composer of the Bugle Calls for the Army. Conducted the Massed Bands at the Delhi Durbar. MVO.
