Soldiers of the Regiment Captain Edward Bromhead Edward Bromhead was commissioned into the King's Own as Ensign on 15th February 1855. He was promoted Lieutenant on 21st December 1855. He served in the Crimea with the Regiment. He was promoted Captain in 1866. He left the Regiment in 1867 in exchange with Captain Harrison.
Sir William Birdwood, married Janetta Bromhead, daughter of Sir
Benjamin Bromhead. Birdwood was Commander-in-Chief,
India, 1925-1930. Sir Benjamin Parnell Bromhead, CB, 4th Baronet
(1838-1935) succeeded to the Baronetcy in 1870 after the death of his
father, although Edward had been first in line.
