2nd Battalion concert party, 'Barrells Blues' 1916-1918
The name has it's origins with the early 18th Century.  The regiment was at that time known by the name of the Colonel - in the 1730's and 1740's this was Colonel William Barrell.  The 'Blue' relates to the blue facings worn by the regiment on their uniform as they were an Royal regiment.
