Lieutenant and wife on wedding day, rear of card marked ‘Best wishes from your little friend Nellie Henson, 4 Mar 1916’
Number 7986 Private J Henson was born on 3 Jul 1885 and joined the King’s Own in around 1903/04. He was promoted Lance Sergeant with the 2nd Battalion in Apr 1909 and in Jul 1909 became the Battalion Chiropodist. He was promoted Sergeant in Mar 1910, still with the 2nd Battalion.
He was commissioned from Sergeant to 2nd Lieutenant on 6 Mar 1915, Temporary Lieutenant 28 Nov 1915 and Lieutenant 20 Dec 1915. He is noted as being employed with the Colonial Office. From Dec 1918 to Dec 1919 he was with the 1st King’s Own. He retired on 27 Aug 1920. He was called up for the Defence Force from 10 Apr 1921 to 3 Jun 1921. Reserve of Officers until 3 Jul 1935. Died 23 Oct 1951.

The wedding of Captain J E E Packard, MC, King's Own Royal Regiment, to Miss Joan Worship, daughter of Hugh Worship, the well known former Ceylon Planter, of Earsham Lodge, Suffolk.  Captain Packard was the son of Mrs Packard of Swafield Hall, Norfolk.  The wedding took pate at St. Michael's Church, Polwaite on 6th January 1925.  Packard, an officer of the King's Own, was at the time at the Staff College, Quetta, India.  The bridesmaid was Miss M C Packard, the groom's sister, the best man was Captain V L de Cordova, also of the King's Own Royal Regiment.

Wedding of Captain Isaac Cross Pedley to Kathleen Creedon, Christmas 1938 at Weatherall in Cumbria.  Captain Pedley served with the 4th Battalion, King's Own, and transferred to the 56th Anti-Tank Regiment Royal Artillery The King's Own, in 1938.  He was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in December 1927, and during his service in the Second World War was taken prisoner of war and was held on the island of Formosa, now Taiwan. He was demobilised in July 1946.  Kathleen Creedon was the daughter of Captain Thomas George Creedon, who was Quarter Master of the 1st Battalion, King's Own, in June 1919 and from March 1920 to December 1929 the Quarter Master of the Regimental Depot at Bowerham Barracks, Lancaster.
