Soldiers of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment at Annual Camp
Holmescales, near Kendal.  The North Lancashire Regiment and the
King's Own were in the same North Lancashire Brigade and therefore
shared their annual camp, along with the 5th Battalion of the King's Own.

Colour Sergeant John Carmichael Bland, permanent staff instructor
for the 4th Battalion.  This photograph may have been taken at
the 1910 Annual Camp in Hornby, but one version of the image is
postmarked Kirkby Lonsdale, 5th August 1911 with the message: "Got
to Kirkby tonight just going back, did you get cheque?"  Sent to his wife
at Coulston Road, Lancaster.
