4th Battalion, Ulverston Drill Hall


The Drill Hall, Ulverston, Dragley Beck, photographed circa 1908.
Opened in 1873 for the Lancashire Rifle Volunteers. It was subsequently the Headquarters of the 1st (Volunteer) Battalion, the King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, 4th (Territorial Force) Battalion, The King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment and from 1938 the 56th Anti-Tank Regiment Royal Artillery (King’s Own). It was used until 1967 by 4/5 King’s Own Royal Regiment (Territorial Army).
