On Thursday 8th November 1962, remembrance crosses and wreaths were laid
on behalf of the Border and King’s Own Royal regiments by Major General
P J Shears, CB, and Mayor C Reid in the Field of Remembrance, Whitehall.
This photograph shows Marshal of the RAF Sir John Salmond GCB CMG CVO,
DSO, laying a wreath to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Royal
Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service.
