Mejez-El-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia, Second World War

 


Grave of Lieutenant Colonel Hugh Alan Bruno Bruno MBE, number 11863, King's Own Royal Regiment,
died of wounds received whilst commanding the 1st/6th Battalion of the East Surrey Regiment in North Africa, 21st April 1943. Age 45. Son of Lieutenant Colonel Hugh Watson Bruno and Elizabeth Margaret Bruno; husband of Betty Yolande Bruno of Westminster, London. Buried at Medjez-El-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.  Commissioned into the Hampshire Regiment 1917-1925, MBE 1920, transferred to the King's Own Royal Regiment as Captain in 1925. Acting Lieutenant Colonel 1st October 1940 and Temporary Lieutenant Colonel 1st January 1941.
