1st Battalion, King's Own Royal Regiment, Haifa, Palestine, 1931.  Presentation of the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal to Sergeant Ernest Walters, number 3701691, 1st Battalion, King's Own Royal Regiment.  Ernest Walters enlisted, as number 10924, on 5th March 1913 at the age of 14 years and 71 days, in London.  He had been born at Southwark, London and was a musician when he enlisted, which suggests he became a band boy.  He served in the First World War with the 9th Battalion of the King's Own in Macedonia with are received the British War and Allied Victory Medals.  He was discharged on 23rd November 1937.
